Cooking that fits real life

Nothing Special is a simple way to plan, shop, and cook across the week without starting over every night.

It's built around using the same ingredients in different ways, so meals feel easier to pull together and nothing goes to waste.

Each week, you'll find a handful of recipes here, along with a full weekly plan sent by email that includes more meals, a grocery list, and a few extra notes to make things easier.

This is for people who cook at home most nights and want it to feel a little more manageable, a little less repetitive, and a lot less complicated.

About me

I'm Chesa, a self-taught home cook and mom of four. I cook most days, and over time I've figured out what actually works, what saves time, and how to use what we already have without overthinking it.

I've been cooking this way for years. I just didn't realize it had a system until I started writing it down. When people would compliment something I made, I'd usually say, "it's nothing special." And I meant it.
