Miso Chili Salmon

A fast salmon recipe with a salty, spicy glaze that tastes like more effort than it actually takes.

DinnerBuilding blockSalmonWhite misoChili crisp
Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp white miso paste
  • 2 tbsp chili crisp
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp fresh ginger, microplaned
  • 2 tsp fresh garlic, microplaned
  • Optional zest from 1 lime plus a squeeze after cooking
  • 1 salmon fillet (about 3 pounds)
Method
  1. 1Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. 2Mix the miso, chili crisp, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and optional lime zest into a paste.
  3. 3Spread the paste evenly over the salmon fillet.
  4. 4Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through.
  5. 5Finish with a squeeze of lime if you like.
Notes
  • The lime is optional, but it brightens everything up if you have one around.
  • If needed, add a little warm water to thin out the miso paste.
Swaps
  • This paste also works on chicken thighs or roasted tofu.
Use It Again
  • Leftover salmon salad.
  • Add to scrambled eggs for a decadent brunch. No additional hot sauce needed!
